Trio of Women's Lacrosse Players Earn CCC Weekly Honors

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College senior attacker Ana Bottary (Hull, Mass.) has been named as Offensive Player of the Week.  Bottary had an outstanding week on attack for the Colonels. In a 23-1 win against Becker, she tallied a career-high 12 points on five goals and seven assists. She netted four goals and added three assists for seven points in Curry’s 12-2 victory over Fitchburg State. Bottary finished the week with 19 total points in just two games and her shooting percentage for the week was also 93.3%.

Curry College junior defender Mel Brickey (Chelmsford, Mass.) has been named for the second week in a row as Defensive Player of the Week.  Brickey continued to be a force on defense for the Colonels after going 2-0 on the week. She caused 21 turnovers in just two games, a 23-1 victory at Becker and a 12-2 win over Fitchburg. At midfield, she scooped up eight ground balls and won 12 draw controls. Brickey also helped out on attack netting 10 goals and dishing out three assists for 13 points.

Curry College freshman midfielder Emma Bolton (Saddle River, N.J.) has been named as Rookie of the Week.  Emma worked hard on all sides of the ball for the Colonels who went 2-0 on the week. On defense, Bolton caused 13 total turnovers, while at midfield she scooped up nine ground balls and won seven draw controls. On attack, she netted a goal in each of the Colonels games and chipped in with two assists for a total of six points.

The Colonels currently have an overall record of 3-1.
