Irwin led the CCC in points per game (18.2), steals per game (5.6), and tied for the league lead in assists per game with 4.5. The Colonels top returners are all starters from a year ago: Irwin, Sam Bamford (North Easton, Mass.), Molly Plunkett (Quincy, Mass.), and Gina Coote (Dedham, Mass.). The Colonels will also welcome back Marie Desmornes (Waltham, Mass.) as well as welcome in seven newcomers for 15th-year head coach Fran Elms.

The University of New England, winners of the last six CCC Tournament Championships, landed in the top spot in the poll with 80 points and eight first-place votes. The final first-place tally went to Western New England and finished with 66 points. Roger Williams (65), Endicott (59), and Salve Regina (43) round out the top five in the rankings.

Curry (33), Gordon (30), Nichols (19), and Wentworth (10) close out the poll in that order.

The Colonels open the 2018-19 season at home as they host Framingham State University at 5:00 p.m. in its annual Tip-Off Tournament.
