BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams Women's Basketball team collected its second straight Commonwealth Coast Conference win with a 78-37 victory over Curry College Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks led from wire to wire, but the Colonels remained within striking distance in the first quarter. The Colonels remained within a possession of Roger Williams for a majority of the period, even pulling within one with just over three minutes left (12-13). However, RWU closed out the period on a 5-0 run to take a six-point lead into the second quarter.

The Colonels managed to bring the game within four in the second quarter, with Irwin knocking down a shot with 7:45 left to make it a 17-21 game. However, the Hawks would roll off a 10-1 run to build the lead to 13, eventually going into halftime with a 19-point advantage (44-21).

The Hawk defense continued to halt Curry's offense in the final two quarters, holding the Colonels to only 5-of-24 shooting from the field. Conversely, Roger Williams connected at a 58.3 clip (14-for-24) in the final two quarters in the win.

Roger Williams (3-2, 2-0 CCC) will head down the road on Tuesday to take on Salve Regina at 5:30 p.m. Curry (2-6, 0-2 CCC) will host Gordon on the same date and time.
