Women's Basketball Earns #7 Seed in ECAC Division III New England Championship and Will Travel to #2 Emmanuel

DANBURY, Conn. - After finishing the regular-season with a 22-5 record, Westfield State University was selected as the No. 1 seed in the 2015 ECAC Division III New England Women's Basketball Championship. The tournament is an eight-team field with a quarterfinal round followed by a semifinal and championship rounds.

In the first-round contests on Wednesday, March 4, Westfield State (22-5) will host Western New England University (17-10), while No. 2 Emmanuel College (18-10) will host seventh-seeded Curry College (17-11) at the Jean Yawkey Center.  No. 3 Roger Williams University (19-7) will host No. 6 Brandeis University (13-12) and Norwich University (22-5) will take on Keene State University (17-10) in the No. 4/No. 5 match-up at Andrews Hall.  

The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, March 7. The winner of Westfield State/Western New England will face the winner of Norwich/Keene State in one semifinal and the winner of Emmanuel/Curry and the winner of Roger Williams/Brandeis will meet in the other semifinal. The semifinal winners will meet Sunday, March 8 for the championship at a location to be determined.

First Round – Wednesday, March 4

No. 8 Western New England (17-10) at No. 1 Westfield State (22-5) – 7 p.m.

No. 7 Curry (17-11) at No. 2 Emmanuel (18-10) – 7 p.m.

No. 6 Brandeis (13-12) at No. 3 Roger Williams (19-7) – 6 p.m.

No. 5 Keene State (17-10) at No. 4 Norwich (22-5) – 7 p.m.

Semifinals – Saturday, March 7 at TBD

No. 1 Westfield State/No. 8 Western New England vs. No. 4 Norwich/No. 5 Keene State winner - TBD

No. 2 Emmanuel/No. 7 Curry winner vs. No. 3 Roger Williams/No. 6 Brandeis - TBD
