Women's Basketball Picks Up 67-56 Non-Conference Road Win at Suffolk

BOSTON, Mass. - The Curry College Colonels defeated the Suffolk University Women's Basketball team 67-56 on Monday evening in non-league action at the Regan Gymnasium.

Senior Kylie Beltz (Pequot Lakes, Minn.) finished with a game-high 18 points to pace to Colonels who improve to a 9-4 overall record on the season. Four players including Beltz finished the evening with double digit scoring totals for Curry.

It was a tight contest throughout the majority of the game until the final minutes of regulation. A three-pointer by senior Iliana Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) would cut the Colonel's lead to two points heading into halftime at 32-30.

Curry would hold a one possesion lead for the opening parts of the second half until an 11-2 run over a six minute span would give them their largest lead up to that point at 12 with 3:37 left on the clock. A jumper by Jeanette Fallon (Nashua, N.H.) would make it a 60-48 game at the point as she knocked down two of her game's nine points.

Quadri finished the evening with a team-high 14 points for Suffolk highlighted by a 3-for-6 performance from beyond the arc.

Junior Alessandra Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) added 13 points.

Suffolk held a slight edge on the glass in the victory with a 45-42 margin in rebounds. Junior Chelsea Cammpellone (Fall River, Mass.) led all players with 13 rebounds in the game for Suffolk.

Junior Kerry White (Windham, N.H.) netted 11 points for Curry, while freshman Nicole Rice (Woburn, Mass.) and junior Shannon Griffith (West Hartford, Conn.) each added 10 points in the win.
