MILTON, Mass. – Curry College topped visiting Wentworth Institute of Technology, 56-38, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball match-up Tuesday night in Milton. The Colonels improved to 5-2 on the season and 3-0 in CCC action, while the Leopards fell to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in league play.

Curry put the first points on the board two and a half minutes into the game on a layup from senior Kylie Beltz (Pequot Lakes, Minn.). Wentworth went on a 6-2 run over the next four minutes of play. The Colonels would respond with an 8-2 run of their own to claim a 13-8 advantage. Curry captured its biggest lead of the first half (22-15) with another layup from Beltz with four and half minutes to go. A made layup from junior Rachael Camara (Fall River, Mass.) would later send the teams into the break tied at 24-24.

The Colonels started the second half with a 21-8 run, establishing a 13-point edge at 45-32. The run started with a made jumper from senior Samantha Corcoran (Hampton, N.H.) and ended with a Beltz layup. The scoring was capped off with a Brianna Hoffman (Milford, N.H.) layup, accounting for the 56-38 final.

Hoffman led Curry with 14 points, while Beltz scored 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Beltz also dished out five assists and recorded two pilfers. Junior Shannon Griffith (West Hartford, Conn.) and Corcoran both lead the Colonels in rebounds (8), while also adding 10 and nine points, respectively.

The Leopards were led by junior Carly Rogers (Scarborough, Maine), recording a double-double with a team-high 14 rebounds and ten points. Freshman Riselly Deoleo (Manchester, N.H.) contributed with 12 points and eight rebounds. Camara chipped in with six points and seven rebounds for Wentworth.

Curry will travel to Nashville, Tennessee for the Music City Classic on December 29-30, where they will play Luther and St. Vincent. The Leopards will be travelling to Las Vegas for a tournament of their own on the 28th and 29th, where they will play Wisconsin-Platteville and Occidental.
