MILTON, Mass. – In the opening round of the Curry College Tip-Off Tournament, the host Colonels topped Southern Vermont College 76-37, while St. Joseph's outlasted St. John Fisher, 54-42.

St. Joseph's closed out the first half with a 9-3 run, entering intermission with a 29-17 edge. In the second half, the Monks built their largest lead (47-30) after senior Mackenzie Dufour (Augusta, Maine) sank a jumper with 10:39 remaining in regulation.
Sophomore Morgan Cahill (Yarmouth, Maine) led the St. Joseph's with game-highs in points (17) and blocks (6). Senior Lindsay Moore (Barrington, N.H.) chipped in with 11 rebounds.
The Cardinals were led by senior Camaryn Buckner (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) with a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double effort. Sophomore Mary Kate Cusack (Clifton Park, N.Y.) added nine points and three steals.
CURRY 76, SOUTHERN VERMONT 37
Curry opened the game on a 9-0 run, starting with a layup by junior Jeanette Fallon (Nashua, N.H.) and was capped off with a three-pointer by freshman Alyssa Keeney (Coventry, Conn.). The Colonels extended their lead to 31 (51-20) heading into the break. Curry took its biggest lead of the game with 6:55 left in the game after junior Kylie Beltz (Pequot Lakes, Minn.) converted a layup.
Fallon led the Colonels with a game-high 14 points and also added six boards. Beltz contributed 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Junior Christina Deiorio (Stoughton, Mass.) and Keeney added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The Mountaineers were led by sophomore Amber Flagg (Windsor, Conn.) scored a team-best 11 points, while freshman Sarah McDonald (Cohoes, N.Y.) had 10 points and six rebounds.
