Women's Basketball Tripped Up 71-63 by Wilkes University at Cruzin' Classic in Fort Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Senior guard Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA) poured in 28 points and a school-record seven three-pointers to lead Wilkes University to a 71-63 win over Curry College on the final day of the Cruzin’ Classic tournament Wednesday afternoon. Wilkes improves to 7-3 overall, while Curry drops to 6-3 following the defeat.

A layup in the paint from Ellen Rich (Hamden, CT) gave Wilkes its largest lead of the contest up 16 points, 58-42, with just over 10 minutes on the second half clock. Curry was able to cut the deficit to five following a three-point play from Kylie Beltz (Pequot Lakes, MN), but an Amanda Pawlowski (Nanticoke, PA) three-pointer and Lindsey Chester (Alexandria, VA) layup sealed the win for Wilkes late in the game.

Kazmerski was joined in double figures by Pawlowski, who finished with 11 points and three helpers. Elena Stambone (Jessup, PA) added nine points and seven rebounds, while Rich grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass in the win.

Curry had four players reach double figures, led by Samantha Corcoran (Hampton, NH) with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Beltz finished with a double-double of her own, contributing 16 points and 10 boards. Jeanette Fallon (Nashua, NH) and Ashley Assarian (Chicopee, MA) chipped in with 14 and 11 points, respectively.
