Women's Basketball Knocked Off 55-42 by Visiting Framingham State
MILTON, Mass. - Curry fell to visiting Framingham State, 55-42, in non-conference women’s basketball action Saturday afternoon in Milton. The Rams improve to 5-3 overall, while the Colonels fall to 5-2.

Curry took its first lead of the game (10-8) after freshman Shannon Griffith (W. Hartford, Conn.) converted a layup with 10:56 remaining in the first period. The Colonels maintained the lead until the 30 second mark, when Framingham State reclaimed the lead (25-24) and capped off the first half scoring with a layup by junior Kristen Hoffman (Foxboro, Mass.).

The Rams opened the second frame on a 13-3 run that was capped off with a layup by senior Madeleine Park (Blue Hill, Maine) with 10:29 on the clock. Curry scored the next five points to trim the deficit to six (38-32) with 7:58 remaining in regulation, but were unable to complete the comeback attempt as Framingham State outscored the Colonels 17-10 over the remainder of the game.

The Rams were led by Park with a game-high 19 points. Senior Kia Minor (Edgartown, Mass) added 16 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Junior Kristen Hoffman (Foxboro, Mass.) chipped in with 10 points, while sophomore Samantha Irvine (Franklin, Mass.) pulled down 10 rebounds.

Sophomore Samantha Corcoran (Hampton, N.H.) led Curry with 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Senior Carolyn Houston (Melrose, N.Y.) contributed with nine points and a game-best four steals. Sophomore Kylie Beltz and freshman Shannon Griffith recorded six rebounds apiece.

The Colonels return to action on December 18 at 4 p.m. in the Cruzin’ Classic against Randolph-Macon, while Framingham State hosts Nichols on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. contest.
