Game One – Curry 9, Dean 1 (6 innings)

Curry opened the scoring in the opener in the bottom of the first inning, tallying two runs. The Colonels tacked on another when Kiana Lloyd hit a base knock to left to plate Kevi Oatway (East Hartford, Conn.).

The next scoring chances came in the fourth as May delivered a single to left to plate Carolyn Lynch (Ipswich, Mass.) and then the Colonels broke the game open with a two-RBI double from Kevi Oatway (East Hartford, Conn.) to go up 5-0.

Dean got on the scoreboard in the fifth inning after Olivia Cassidy (Concord, Mass.) reached on an error by the second baseman. The misplay allowed Courtney Holden (Bridgeport, Conn.) to cross home to make the score 5-1.

Curry got a run back in the sixth, thanks to an RBI single to second base from May. The base hit scored Caroline Johnson (Milton, Mass.). Later in the frame, Lambert singled to center field to plate Jocelyn Dimond (Weare, N.H.) and Taylor Newcomb (Millville, Mass.).

May and Newcomb paced the Colonels in the opener with three hits in four at-bats. Lambert was the lone Curry student-athlete with multiple hits.

Curry tacked on four in the bottom of the first frame to gain their first advantage. Oatway opened the scoring drawing a bases load walk to plate Dimond. A sacrifice fly to left from Michaela Colleran (East Bridgewater, Mass.) was deep enough to score Talia Forte (North Scituate, R.I.). The inning's scoring was closed after Newcomb converted a two-RBI double to score Oatway and Lambert.

The Colonels broke the game open in the third, tallying five runs. Lloyd opened the frame with her first career home run. The round-tripper also plated Colleran to make the score 6-1.
