Ahearn and Carver Chosen as 2015 Softball Captains

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College Softball Team has announced its captains for the 2015 season. Pitcher Taylor Ahearn (Salem, Mass./Bishop Fenwick HS) and catcher Allie Carver (Marlborough, Mass./Hudson HS) were chosen by their teammates and coaches to lead the 2015 Colonels during their senior season.

Ahearn had a stellar 2014 campaign on her way to earning Second Team honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). The junior hurler tossed 20 complete games in her 23 starts and made two relief appearances. Ahearn compiled a 16-7 record with a sparkling 1.21 ERA over 156.2 innings pitched. She recorded 138 strikeouts while walking just 31.

Carver had a solid junior campaign as well, and was named to the CCC Honorable Mention squad. In 13 league games, she batted .344 (11 for 32) and compiled a .980 fielding percentage (one error in 51 chances). Overall, Carver batted .318 (27 for 85) with a home run and four RBI in 35 games played.
