Flaherty Named as CCC Softball Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Curry College senior shortstop Megan Flaherty (Medway, Mass.) has been named as Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Softball Player of the Week for the period ending on April 27.

Flaherty batted .417 (5-for-12) in a four-game week that saw the Colonels split a pair of doubleheaders. The senior came up big in a critical CCC doubleheader split with first-place Endicott that secured the number three seed in the upcoming CCC Championship tournament for the Colonels. Flaherty picked up a pair of hits and a run scored and an RBI in a narrow 4-3 game one loss. Flaherty added two more hits and scored the game-winning run in bottom of the seventh inning of Curry's 3-2 win in the nightcap. Earlier in the week, Flaherty went 1-for-4 in a twinbill split with UMass-Boston.
