MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Head Softball Coach Bruce Weckworth has announced the hiring of Melissa “Mo” Scata as assistant softball coach for the 2013 season.

Scata is a native of Medway, Massachusetts, where she attended Medway High School. She went on to attend Keene State College, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. Scata was also a four-year letter winner on the Owls’ softball team, playing at catcher and designated hitter.

Scata’s previous coaching experience includes: Head Varsity Softball Coach at Medway High School (2012); Head Softball Coach at Concord Academy (2011); and Head Junior Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Medway High School (2010-Present).

She has also worked as a paraprofessional at Medway Middle School (2011-2013), a part-time softball instructor at the Sluggers Academy (2012), and a sales associate for Under Armour (2012).

Scata currently resides in Medway.
