KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Curry College men's tennis team lost a 9-0 decision to non-conference foe Ursinus College on Thursday morning at Oak Street Park. The Bears moved to 2-3 overall while the Colonels slip to 0-4.

Ursinus started the match by sweeping the doubles portion in convincing fashion. Mason Groff (Allentown, Pa.) and Matt Fontanese (Allentown, N.J.) gave the Bears the point at No. 1 doubles, topping the Curry pair of junior Aidan Roach (Norwell, Mass.) and senior Richie Hefler (Canton, Conn.), 8-2. Ursinus took the other two doubles matches by 8-1 and 8-0 finals, respectively.

In singles play, the best match of the day came at the No. 3 spot between Stento and Fontanese. Fontanese captured the first set by a 6-4 final before topping Stento in the second set, 6-2.

The Bears took the rest of the singles matches in straight sets. Groff won at No. 1 singles over Roach (6-2, 6-2). Connor DeFaber-Schumacher (Chester Springs, Pa.) picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles over Hefler. Simbarashe Kanjanda (Belvedere Harare, Zimbabwe) topped freshman Lorenzo Russo (Lynnfield, Mass.) 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4. Jake Lachowicz (Monroeville, N.J.) and Kyle Bookman (Wyndmoor, Pa.) captured the final two singles points for Ursinus.

Curry returns north and is set to have its spring home opener on Tuesday, March 19 against Johnson & Wales at 3:30 p.m.
