Men's Tennis Shut Out at Roger Williams, 9-0

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Curry College men's tennis team lost a 9-0 decision to Roger Williams University on Saturday afternoon.

The Colonels were only able to field five players in the match, giving RWU two quick points via default at #3 doubles and #6 singles.

At doubles, Grant Rosenberg (Melville, N.Y.) and Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) picked up an 8-5 win over Richie Hefler (Canton, Conn.) and Aidan Roach (Norwell, Mass.) at #1, while Miles Conlin (Branford, Conn.) and Jared Gansert (Scituate, R.I.) downed Zach Muller (Methuen, Mass.) and Daniel Ritucci (Middleboro, Mass.) 8-1 at #2.

Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) and Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) won their respective #1 and #2 matches over Aidan Roach and Helfer by identical 6-2, 6-0 scores. Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Conn.) won 6-1, 6-0 over Muller at #3, while Matty Feldman (Duxbury, Mass.) set down Ritucci 6-0, 6-1 at #4. Sam Kluger (Nashua, N.H.) wrapped up the sweep without dropping a set, downing Michael Wales (Rye, N.Y.) 6-0, 6-0 at #5.

Curry (1-13, 0-4 CCC) hosts Salve Regina on Monday while Roger Williams (7-4, 4-1 CCC) heads to Nichols on Wednesday.
