Men's Tennis Falls to Eastern Nazarene in CCC Opener, 9-0

QUINCY, Mass. - The Curry College men's tennis team was toppled by Eastern Nazarene by a 9-0 Tuesday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts in the first league match of the season.

The Lions improve to 9-2 on the year and 1-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the win. The Colonels slide to 0-8 overall and 0-1 in conference play with the outcome.

Alex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) and Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) cruised to an 8-0 victory at the No. 1 doubles position over Aidan Roach (Norwell, Mass.) and Dawson Stento (Wellesley Hills, Mass.).

Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) and Laurent Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) downed Richie Hefler (Canton, Mass.) and Nicholas Piotrowski (Groveland, Mass.) at the second spot, 8-2.

Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) and Kaden Swarr (Brighton, Colo.) rolled past Zach Muller (Methuen, Mass.) and Samuel Pitts (Cohasset, Mass.) 8-0 at the third slot.

Partyka notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at the top singles position over Roach while Siercke posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 2 spot against Stento.

Ruttkowski got by Hefler 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 3 position and Opaschowski blanked Piotrowski 6-0, 6-0 in his first match at the No. 4 slot this season.

Swarr registered a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the fifth spot over Muller while Pierson topped Daniel Ritucci (Middleboro, Mass.) 6-0, 6-0 in the sixth singles match.

Curry will return to the court on Wednesday, March 28 at Suffolk at 3:30. Eastern Nazarene heads to the Ocean State to battle Roger Williams March 28.
