Men's Tennis Defeated 9-0 at Conference Rival Roger Williams

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team rolled to a 9-0 win over a depleted Curry College squad Wednesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action.

Curry only dressed five players coming into the match, giving RWU two points off the bat. To add insult to injury, the Colonels' Evan Fishman (Glen Ridge, N.J.) was hurt in between doubles and singles play and could not play his #4 singles match, giving the Hawks a third point by default.

Fishman and Lucas Donaway (Foxboro, Mass.) dropped their #2 doubles match 8-3 to Eric Bott and Jake Decker, who were making their season debut as a doubles pair. At the other doubles position, Taylor Webster (Bristol, Conn.) and Ryan Swanson (West Newbury, Mass.) took down Toma Blatchford (Montreal, Quebec) and Valvel Temin (Swampscott, Mass.) 8-4 at #1.

At singles, Eric Laboissonniere (Cumberland, R.I.) notched a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Blatchford at #1, while Zack Bussiere (Colchester, Conn.) took down Temin 6-1, 6-4 at #2. Alex Bonanno earned his first singles victory of the year, beating Cory Flax (Potomac, Md.) 6-0, 6-2 at #5, while Jonah Schwartz (Orange, Conn.) picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over Donaway at #3.

On Saturday, Roger Williams (7-3, 3-1 CCC) hosts Eastern Nazarene while Curry (2-10, 1-3 CCC) travels to Nichols. (Recap courtesy of RWU Sports Information)
