MILTON, Mass. - Curry College defeated visiting Newbury College, 9-0, in non-conference men's tennis action Tuesday afternoon in Milton. The Colonels improve to 1-5 on the season, while the Nighthawks fall to 0-1.
 
Curry broke on top 3-0 after the completion of doubles play. Tyler Collins and Toma Blatchford handled Gerard Font-Raventos and Joey Verdon, 8-0, at #1; Charlie Paltsios and Rob Knight knocked off Wayne Gethers and Steve Carey, 8-1, at #2; and Eric Hellberg and Joe Berger outlasted John Morgan and Gabriel Marcolini, 8-2, at #3.
 
The Colonels cruised to easy singles wins as well, with Collins defeating Font-Raventos, Blatchford taking care of Gethers, Paltsios knocking off Morgan, Berger handling Carey, Lucas Donaway tripping up Verdon, and Ben Katz beating Marcolini.
 
Both teams host conference rivals on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., as Curry welcomes Wentworth and Newbury entertains Regis at Pine Manor College.
