Men's Tennis Blanked 9-0 by Visiting Eastern Nazarene in CCC Opener

MILTON, Mass. - Visiting Eastern Nazarene cruised to a 9-0 victory over Curry in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's tennis opener for both schools. The Lions improve to 4-4 overall, while the Colonels slip to 0-5.

In singles, ENC senior Austin Steelman defeated Curry senior Tyler Collins, 6-0, 6-1, at #1. Sophomore Sam McKay-Corkum knocked off freshman Toma Blatchford, 6-0, 6-0, at #2. Junior Tim Luz took care of freshman Charlie Paltsios, 6-0, 6-2, at #3. Sophomore Tyler Perron cruised past freshman Rob Knight, 6-0, 6-0, at #4. Freshman Kevin Paterno beat senior Lucas Donaway, 6-2, 6-0, at #5. And junior Nick Thompson downed sophomore Eric Hellberg, 6-2, 6-2, at #6.

In doubles, Steelman and Thompson took care of Collins and Blatchford, 8-4, at #1. McKay-Corkum and Luz defeated Paltsios and Knight, 8-3, at #2. And Perron and Paterno handled Hellberg and sophomore Jonathon Schutzman, 8-1, at #3.

The Lions resume play on Wednesdayat 3:30 p.m., hosting CCC rival Endicott, while the Colonelsplay host to Newbury on Tuesday in a non-conference match at 3:30 p.m.
