Peter Mendel has been the head coach of the Curry men's soccer program since 2007.

He has coached numerous All-New England and All-Conference players as well as being the all-time winningest men’s soccer Coach in Curry College history. He has been voted Commonwealth Coast Conference Coach of the Year and College Coach of the Year in 2013 by the Eastern Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Association for his work in growing the game in Eastern Massachusetts.

Mendel started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Salem State College, where he helped turn around a program that had four wins in 2004 to a 14-win season in 2006. While at Salem, Mendel oversaw recruitment and retention for the men’s soccer program.

Mendel holds his United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma as well as his Director of Coaching Diploma. He also has his master’s degree in Higher Education in Student Affairs from Salem State College. Mendel is currently pursuing his doctorate in Sport Leadership from Concordia University Chicago.

Mendel’s responsibilities include being the admissions liaison for the athletics department, leadership programming coordinator, game and contest management, and an adjunct professor in the management department, focusing on Sport Management.

A native of Adams, Massachusetts, Mendel is a graduate of Endicott College where he earned his degree in sport management and was a four-year letterman with the soccer program. He was an All-State player in high school and is inducted into the Berkshire County Soccer Hall of Fame.
