Men's Soccer Blanked By Williams in Non-Conference Finale, 4-0

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College men's soccer team fell 4-0 to Williams College on Saturday afternoon in its non-conference finale at Walter M. Katz Field.

The Ephs came out firing early and often and produced three goals in the opening 31 minutes of the game. Williams got on the board just 1:43 into the contest as Jules Oberg (Stockholm, Sweden) headed in a corner from Eli Petrik (Austin, Texas). Gregory Andreou (Baltimore, Md.) tacked on an unassisted tally in the 11th minute to increase the lead to 2-0. Andreou one-timed the ball and put it in the upper right corner past Paul DeMaio (North Andover, Mass.). The final tally of the first stanza came at the 31:59 mark as Justin Adams (Denville, N.J.) converted a shot off a cross from Chris Fleischer (Bethesda, Md.) to send the Ephs into the halftime intermission with a 3-0 lead.  

Williams outshot Curry 11-2 in the opening 45 minutes and held a 7-1 edge in corners.

The Ephs tacked on the final goal of the contest 62nd minute when Bobby Fabricant (Summit, N.J.) shot it to the lower left corner of the goal and past DeMaio, which gave Williams a 4-0 advantage, which proved to be the final score.

The Ephs outshot the Colonels 21-5 for the contest while holding a 9-3 edge in corners.

DeMaio finished with four saves in 45 minutes. James Crawford (Whitinsville, Mass.) played the final 45 minutes, making three saves. George Taylor (Boyd, Md.) picked up the victory for Williams, converting two saves against two shots.

Curry (6-7-1 overall) will next travel to Nichols College on Wednesday, October 10 for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest at 3:00 p.m. Williams (5-3-1 overall) returns to action at home against Coast Guard on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
