Men's Soccer Shut Out By Wentworth in CCC Play, 2-0

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College men's soccer team fell to the visiting Wentworth Institute of Technology by a 2-0 final in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field.

Erik Treble (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) notched his first goal of the season to put Wentworth ahead in the first half, and Nathan Gosselin (Hudson, N.H.) added the insurance at the 81:59 mark of the second half. The Leopards improved to 5-3-1 overall and 1-0-0 on the season, while the Colonels dropped to 6-3-1 overall, 0-2-0 in the CCC.

Wentworth had the majority of the pressure in the first half, creating four shots on goal. Finally, Treble was able to gather a loose ball off a corner and fired it past Paul DeMaio (North Andover, Mass.) to give the Leopards the 1-0 advantage at the 15:44 mark.

Wentworth continued to work the ball through the midfield, creating four more opportunities in the second half and would strike again as Cameron Pacheco (Woburn, Mass.) found Gosselin off a free kick and Gosselin deposited it in the back of the net in the 82nd minute.

DeMaio saved three shots while Philip Chomicki (Dorchester, Mass.) ended the day with nine saves.

Curry will next host Elms College on Wednesday, September 26 at 6:30 p.m. Wentworth hosts Springfield on Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. for their next contest.
