Men's Soccer Falls to Visiting Western New England 1-0 in CCC Action

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College Men's Soccer team fell to visiting Western New England, 1-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Walter M. Katz Field on Saturday night. The loss drops the Colonels to 8-10-1 on the season and 2-6 in the CCC.  With the win the Golden Bears improve to 11-5-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the CCC.

Western New England held the advantage in shots in the first half at 6-3.  The Golden Bears defense was also solid as they held the Colonels scoreless and allowed them to land just one shot on net with junior goalkeeper Sam Brewer (Westford, Mass.) making the stop. Curry played strong in the backfield as they kept the visitors off the scoreboard until the 44:12 minute mark.  With only 48 seconds remaining in the half, Western New England's sophomore Ty Champagne (Watertown, Conn.) tallied an unassisted goal for the eventual game-winner.

The Golden Bears outshot the Colonels 12-5 while Curry led in corners, 8-4.

Senior Adam DiBrina (Sudbury, Ontario) was credited with the loss in goal for the Colonels with six stops. Brewer recorded two saves in goal for Western New England in the win.

Curry travels to Wentworth for a 7:00 p.m. Commonwealth Coast Conference contest on Tuesday, October 24. Western New England travels to Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Gordon on Tuesday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m.
