BOSTON, Mass. – The Curry College Men's Soccer team fell to host Emerson College, 0-0 in double overtime in a non-conference matchup under the lights on Friday night at Rotch Field. 

 INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

• Emerson outshot Curry, 17-8 and held the 8-2 advantage in corner kicks. 
• Sophomore Gavin Faucette (Oakland, Calif.) led Emerson with four shots and one shot on goal, while Claudio Orsini and Giancarlo Orsini each had a pair of shots for Curry.
• Juniors Max DeLuca (Rockland, Mass.) and Joao Vieira (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil) had three shots a piece as Vieira also had two shots on goal.
• Starting the net for Emerson was senior Lucas Fischer (Atlanta, Ga.) for the first 89:57 with one save and freshman net minder David Kemp (London, England) played the final 20:03 in his collegiate debut with one save.
• In between the pipes for Curry was Adam Dibrina, who started the first 45 minutes as Paul DeMaio manned the net for the final 65 minutes with nine saves. 

 HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Neither Emerson nor Curry were able to find the back of the net within the first 45 minutes as the score remained in a 0-0 lock. 
• The Colonels sent up three shots whereas the Lions had zero. 
• When it came to putting the ball into the back of the net, Emerson and Curry once again came up empty handed during the second half and entered overtime with the score still at 0-0.
• Two minutes into the second half, Dave Stapleton nearly put Curry on top before Fischer dove to halt the ball before Vieira's shot a minute later grazed the bottom left hand corner of the net to hold the game scoreless. 
• Emerson held control for much of the second half and kept the ball on their side to give themselves a fair share of chances to put themselves on top.
• Perhaps their biggest opportunity came when Stapleton earned himself a red card, giving Emerson a penalty kick chance at 62:30, however, sophomore Creighton Dorfman's (Northbridge, Mass.) shot the ball right into the arms of DeMaio.
• Through the remaining minutes of regulation, Emerson outshot Curry, 8-0, as Faucette saw his final shot attempt of the half be blocked at 87:27. 
• Curry put up one last effort to close out the game at the foot of Ben Silvia, but his shot sailed wide as the game made its way into overtime. 
• Once again, neither team were able to put the ball into the net through the first overtime with Curry making one shot attempt and sent the game into another 10 minutes of play. 
• With 2:38 on the clock, senior Warren Backman (Spring Hill, Fl.) sent up a corner kick from the right side that looked as though it would send Emerson home with the win, but the ball grazed the top crossbar and fell out of bounds. 
• The Colonels last shot attempt of the game sailed wide, while the Lions last two shots were stopped by Demaio to hold the final score at 0-0.

• Emerson continues its home schedule tomorrow, Saturday, September 2, as they welcome Emmanuel (Mass.) for a 6:00 p.m. nightcap contest.
