Men's Soccer Looks to Have a Breakout Season

MILTON, Mass. - Tenth-year Head Coach Peter Mendel will look to improve upon a 10-9-1 mark of last fall where they were 2-6-1 in conference play. The Colonels have brought in 10 first-year students vying to break into the squad. Curry will rely on an experienced junior and senior class to compete in the CCC.

The senior class will be led by midfielders Nick LaPenna and Steven DePina, defender Kevin Leite and goalkeeper Dan Johnson. All of the seniors will be looked upon for their leadership on and off the pitch this Fall.
The junior class contains forwards Ben Silvia and Nathan Swartz and midfielders Hunter Duval, Dave Stapleton, Brian Fubler, James Hytner and Roy Butlin. Returning in the backline are defenders Eric Miller and Giancarlo Orsini.
The sophomore class includes defender Kyle Henry, midfielders Philip Ennin and Jake Szyndler and forward Tristan Eckert.  These players all enjoyed a successful freshman campaign.
The freshmen class is very deep and will provide an immediate spark and energy to the experienced squad.
The Colonels coaching staff will also have some new faces. Jeff Hallenbeck joins the Colonels for his first season. Sam Hunter will also be new to the sidelines while Stephen Siragusa returns for his sixth season and Taylor Bracken his fifth. All four add a different dynamic to the coaching staff and will bring knowledge and perspective to help out Coach Mendel and the Colonels along the way.
Curry will look to build upon their wins and hope to continue to be competitive in conference play. With depth at all positions and a strong belief, the Colonels are poised for a breakout season and have goals for a top four finish. With a strong schedule ahead the Colonels season will certainly be a challenging one.
