Curry Athletics Wraps Up Division III Week Celebration

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College Athletics celebrated NCAA Division III Week from April 6-12. The weeklong event was a celebration by member institutions and conferences of the division's unique philosophy that equally values academics, athletics and student-athletes' involvement in a full and rich campus life. Curry College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as well as student-athletes from all teams participated in various community service projects and events all week.

To kick off the week, SAAC members sold "Fear the Beard" shirts for the second year which sold out by week's end. SAAC members raised $700 which was donated to Team IMPACT. SAAC member Rolando Montero said: "People wanted to buy them since they loved last year's shirts so much." Throughout the week, athletic teams and faculty attended games and matches of all our Spring sports creating great home-field advantages for our Colonels.

The #Colonel Hunt was also a huge success as prize packs were given away all week long for students participating in various social media challenges including selfies, favoriting pictures and attending games on campus.
SAAC Members also hosted the First Annual D3 Week/Team IMPACT 3 v 3 Basketball Tournament. A great turnout saw some exciting games and a highly-contested final. In addition, SAAC spent two afternoons down on the Athletics fields setting up windscreens, and cleaning the athletic fields for the weekend's Accepted Student Day contests.
On Sunday, Curry SAAC President Chris Mason and member Brett Sinclair attended the Conference SAAC meeting to participate in a Special Olympics field day and recap a very successful week.
SAAC and the Athletics Department would like to thank all of the Curry community for their help and support all week long!
