BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's soccer team hosted Curry College on Wednesday evening for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup. With two goals from senior Conner Gibbs (Westborough, Mass.) and five points from junior Diego Slobotzky (Mexico City, Mexico) the Gulls soared to a 6-1 victory on senior day. Endicott improves to 8-6-2 (3-2-2 CCC) while the Colonels fall to 8-8-1 (2-5-0 CCC).

Endicott will take the field next on Saturday as they travel to CCC opponent Wentworth for a 3:00 p.m. matchup. Curry will take the field next on Saturday as well as they travel to Western New England for a CCC showdown at 11:00 a.m.

The first half was a battle as the Colonels just outshot the Gulls 15-12, however the Blue and Green were able to tab three tallies on the board. The first came in the opening seconds of the game after Slobotzky tallied his seventh goal of the season after controlling a feed from senior Stephen Joyce (Rome, N.Y.) and finding the back of the net.

14 minutes later Joyce was eager for a tally on senior day after he deked around two Colonel defenders and blasted the ball into the back of the net from 15 yards out.

In the 27 minute mark Curry cut the lead down to one after senior Nick Gilman (Longmeadow, Mass.) ripped a shot at net from inside the box off a feed from junior Rolando Montero (Norwalk, Conn.) for his seventh goal of the season.

With just over five minutes to go in the half the Gulls tallied their final goal of the half after sophomore Brian Blanchard (Hingham, Mass.) sent a ball to net that slipped past Curry goalkeeper Daniel Johnson (Easton, Conn.) to give the Gulls a 3-1 edge heading into halftime.

After a delay due to a power outage on campus the game moved to Gordon College to resume play.

Endicott controlled the second half as they outshot the Colonels 11-6 while adding three more tallies to the mix.

The fourth goal of the game came six minutes in after Gibbs controlled a feed from Slobotzky and sent the ball to the right side for the 4-1 advantage. 21 minutes later the duo made another tally as Slobotzky sent in a corner kick where Gibbs was able to dive to goal for the solid header.

Both sides would continue to work their offensive zones while senior goalkeeper Alex Jorge (Billerica, Mass.) worked to make some key stops.

With just two minutes remaining junior Kyle Bisceglia (New Boston, N.H.) found the back of the net after he controlled a corner kick sent in by freshman Brendan McLaughlin (Colchester, Conn.) to secure the 6-1 final score.

Jorge finished the night with seven stops while his counterpart, Johnson made six. (Game Recap Courtesy of Endicott Sports Information)
