Women's and Men's Soccer Teams Participate in Community Reading Day Event

MILTON, Mass. - On April 17, six members of the Curry College community took a field trip across town to Milton's Cunningham Elementary School to participate in the school's 5th Annual Community Reading Day event. Curry student-athletes included Matt Vient, Rolando Montero and Matt Cotnoir from the Men's Soccer team and Jessica Ruxton, Abigail Sadlers, and Kaitlyn Lima from Women's Soccer.

The Cunningham Elementary School Reading Day is an opportunity to expose students to the many people in the community who play an important role, and to learn about the many books that once played an important role in their lives.

The Curry students split up and went to 2nd and 5th grade classes to share their favorite childhood books. "It was so much fun seeing the excitement on the kids' faces when we walked in and shared our stories," said Vient.

The student-athletes also chatted about playing sports and being a college athlete and answered questions from the elementary school students.

"We had a blast," said Lima. It was fun to read,  see the different classrooms and see the smiles on their faces."
