BIDDEFORD, Maine - Sawyer Allen (Sutton, Mass.), a sophomore on the Curry College men's lacrosse team, was named Friday afternoon to the Commonwealth Coast Conference's First Team All-Conference in the faceoff specialist position.

Allen finished as the conference's leading faceoff-man, winning 216 of his 325 faceoffs taken for a percentage of .665. The mark is good for 21st nationally, while his 132 ground balls also leads the CCC and is tied for 16th in Division III.

Offensively, Allen notched six goals and three assists for nine points on the season. Of his nine points, seven came in CCC competition, including all six goals. 

Allen was a one-time recipient of the league's Specialist of the Week award. The All-Conference honor is Allen's second in as many years, as he was named to the All-CCC Third Team as a freshman in 2021.

The sophomore will lead Curry into the CCC Quarterfinals against second-seeded Endicott on Saturday afternoon. Faceoff between the Colonels and the Gulls is slated for 1 p.m.
