Men's Lacrosse Toppled by Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Curry College men's lacrosse team suffered an 11-6 defeat to Endicott College Wednesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Hempstead Stadium.

With the loss, Curry drops to 4-11 overall and 1-6 in the CCC.

The teams played a neck-and-neck opening half, heading to the break knotted at 4-4. Endicott opened the scoring with a pair of markers in the game's first 2:47, but Curry refused to go down quietly. The Colonels found the scoreboard on a tally from freshman Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.) 5:28 in, and closed the first quarter on a goal from Stephen Stackhouse (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) in the first quarter's final minute to trail 3-2 after one.

A goal from freshman Josh Hunter (East Bridgewater, Mass.) preceded a Pat Modoono (Billerica, Mass.) man-up go-ahead goal midway through the second quarter, giving Curry a 4-3 lead, but Endicott would score just over a minute and a half later to level the score at 4-4.

The Gulls changed the tide of the contest by scoring all four goals in the third quarter to grab an 8-4 lead heading to the fourth.

Back-to-back goals from Connor Bryant (Methuen, Mass.) and Modoono narrowed the deficit to 9-6 with just over nine minutes to play, but Curry could close the gap no further as Endicott netted a pair of insurance markers to seal the win.

In net, sophomore Evan Falandys (Leominster, Mass.) matched a season-high with 14 saves in the losing effort.

Curry will close out the regular season next Wednesday evening when they host the University of New England at 7 p.m. at Walter M. Katz Field.
