Men's Lacrosse Tripped Up at Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Curry College men's lacrosse team dropped a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest at Endicott College, 21-4, on Wednesday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

Endicott (9-2 overall, 6-0 CCC) were led by senior Jack Sutherland (Sudbury, Mass.) who tallied six goals and three assists. The Colonels, who got scores from graduate student Andrew DeLeary (Wakefield, Mass.), freshman Pat Modoono (Billerica, Mass.), and freshman Albie DiBella (Norwell, Mass.) fell to 4-7 overall (3-3 CCC) on the year.

Endicott started fast, netting the first 11 goals of the game, six in the first and five in the second. The Gulls tacked on another to start the second on a marker from senior Sam DesMarais (York, Maine). Curry got each of its four goals in the third quarter. Modoono found the back of the net on a man-up opportunity with 9:44 remaining while graduate student Jake Stebbins (Colchester, Vt.) fed DiBella for the second straight goal. Sophomore Domenic Russo (Northborough, Mass.) registered the final goal of the frame for Endicott while DiBella and DeLeary rounded out the scoring to make the score 13-4 with one quarter to play.

The Gulls shut out Curry in the fourth quarter, 8-0, as the contest ended in the 21-4 final.

Graduate student Austin Fournier (Martha's Vineyard, Mass.) converted five saves in goal in the victory for Endicott. Freshman Evan Falandys (Leominster, Mass.) registered eight stops in 30 minutes while classmate Liam O'Neill (McMurray, Pa.) recorded six stops in 30 minutes in the setback.

The Colonels will close out the regular season on Saturday, May 1 at home against Roger Williams University at 1:00 p.m. Endicott will travel to Nichols for its regular season finale on Saturday at noon.
