BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott College men's lacrosse team scored 14 goals on 58 shots in a 14-5 win over Curry College on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener for both teams. The win propels the Gulls to 2-5 overall and 1-0 in the CCC. The loss drops the Colonels to 3-5 overall and 0-1 in conference action.

Endicott controlled the opening frame, highlighted by a 3-0 run to close out the quarter. Junior Kyle Ton (Norwich, Conn.) put Curry on the board just 1:22 in. The three-goal spurt set the tone as the Gulls used a goal apiece from junior Neal Parry (Marshfield, Mass.), sophomore Jack Sutherland (Sudbury, Mass.), and junior Ben Clark (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) to put the Colonels in a hole early.

Endicott extended the lead to three (4-1) on a tally from junior Mike Sudora (Monroe, Conn.) and the helper going to Clark. Curry followed the marker a short 53 seconds later on an unassisted goal from senior MJ Urbano (Wakefield, Mass.). Junior Nick Sturgess (Hampstead, N.H.) and Sutherland each netted one to give the Gulls its largest advantage of the first half, 6-2. The Colonels outscored Endicott 2-1 over the final 10:35 of the frame as Ton and Urbano scored for the visitors over that span. Sudora recorded the final goal of the half for the Gulls as they entered the intermission with a 7-4 lead.

Endicott outscored Curry 4-0 in the third quarter and 3-1 in the final quarter to break the game open for the 14-5 final. Junior Jake Stebbins (Colchester, Vt.) registered the goal off an assist from junior Cameron Nigro (Scarborough, Maine).

Suduro led the Gulls attack with four goals on the day, while Clark, Sutherland and Parry each posted two goals for the Endicott. Ton and Urbano tallied two goals apiece for the Colonels.

Endicott held the edge in most of the statistical categories, most defining being a 58-26 advantage in shots. Ground balls favored the Gulls at 47-25. Endicott dominated the faceoff portion, winning 18 of the 22 opportunities.

Senior Patrick Dean (Westhampton, N.Y.) patrolled the cage for the Gulls, making 12 saves for the win. Senior goalie Josh Teller (Milford, Conn.) and freshman Bobby Cannan (Bernardsville, N.J.) split time in between the pipes during the contest. Teller made 13 saves in the first 30 minutes and was credited with the loss while Cannan converted 10 saves in the second half.

Curry will next host Wentworth on Wednesday, March 27 at 4:00 p.m. Endicott travels to Bowdoin on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
