Men's Lacrosse Assists at Walk to End Alzheimer's

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On Sunday, September 23, the Curry College men's lacrosse team volunteered in a variety of roles at the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Cambridge, Mass. for the third year in a row.  The student-athletes helped direct traffic as walkers were arriving at the event, and also were posted throughout the course, providing directions for the walkers throughout the race.

"As of Sunday, the walk had raised over 1.1 million dollars in an effort to further fund research," said Head Coach Tim Murphy. "Walkers from all across New England came to participate in the event.  They will continue to raise funds until October 31st in an attempt to reach their goal of 1.5 million dollars".

This was the second community event for the men's lacrosse student-athletes this month.  In October they will participate in both the  Autism Speaks Walk (10/14) and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Out of the Darkness Boston Walk (10/27).  Team members have individual fundraising pages through the Autism Speaks web page and will begin fundraising for the AFSP Walk beginning next week.  Be sure to find your favorite Colonel to help contribute to the event!
