MILTON, Mass. – Behind an eight point performance from Devin Newell (Medford, Mass.), the Curry College men's lacrosse team notched its third Commonwealth Coast Conference victory on Saturday afternoon with a 23-2 win over Wentworth at the Walter M. Katz Field. The Colonels improve to 7-5 overall and 3-2 in the CCC while the Leopards fall to 5-6 overall and 1-4 in league play.

Wentworth opened the contest with an unassisted goal by Kevin Butler (Jefferson, Mass.). Curry answered back at the 11:37 mark when Newell netted his first goal of the contest with the assist going to Matt Serra (Haverhill, Mass.). Just under a minute later, the Colonels would grab the 2-1 lead on a goal by Andrew DeLeary (Wakefield, Mass.) with a helper from Newell. The Leopards tied the match with 5:53 left in the quarter when Jason Buck (Manlius, N.Y.) assisted Riley Smith (Plaistow, N.H.). The score would be the last for the visitors as the Colonels would answer back with three to close out the period followed by 18 unanswered. Curry's run came off the sticks of Serra from Newell, Wade Prajer (Southbury, Conn.) to Dominick Marcella (Hull, Mass.) and a man-down tally by Newell from MJ Urbano (Wakefield, Mass.).

Curry netted five goals in both the third quarter and fourth for another 10 points along with shutting out Wentworth on eight saves.  O'Brien had six before giving way to Josh Teller (Milford, Conn.) who came in at the last two minutes of regulation and had two stops.

Cashin got his team on the board early in the third off a dish from Urbano. Dakota Sanders (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) followed with his lone goal on the day, unassisted. Serra tallied an unassisted before Brandon Flaim (Pembroke, Mass.) would get on the score sheet with back-to-back goals. His first was unassisted with Prajer helping on his second.
