Men's Lacrosse Falls to CCC Foe Wentworth, 12-4

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Steve Glover (Marstons Mills, Mass.) scored five goals and added an assist to help pace the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team to its second straight win, a 12-4 triumph over Curry in Commonwealth Coast Conference action played on Sweeney Field.

With the win the Leopards improve to 5-6 overall and 2-3 in CCC play while the Colonels fall to 5-7 (0-4).

Curry took an early, 2-0 lead as the Colonels scored a pair of goals 1:08 apart. Junior Ronald Jensen (Zionsville, Ind.) tallied an unassisted marker 1:26 into the contest before junior John Donahoe (Wakefield, Mass.) fed senior Harrison Foster (Saddle River, N.J.) with 12:26 left.

Glover's first of the game, coming with 8:39 left in the first quarter, began a string of 10 unanswered goals for Wentworth, which held the Colonels scoreless for the next 41:20. Glover scored from junior Ryan Coakley (Flemington, N.J.) and sophomores Nick Parent (Windham, N.H.) and Alec Paradis (Pelham, N.H.) would give the Black & Gold a 3-2 edge after one quarter.

Wentworth tallied four times in the second frame with junior Michael Cushera (Waltham, Mass.) and Paradis recording a goal and an assist, Glover scoring twice, and junior Dillon Lynch (Southwick, Mass.) adding an assist.

Senior Chris Kipp (Scarborough, Maine), Glover, and Paradis all tallied in the third quarter to make it a 10-2 game before Jensen netted his second of the contest with 1:06 left in the quarter to make it 10-3 through 45:00 of play.

Parent scored from Glover 58 seconds into the fourth quarter to make it 11-3 and Glover scored from Paradis with 1:49 left to finish the scoring for the Leopards. Junior Connor McKeon (Larchmont, N.Y.) scored a fourth quarter goal for Curry.

Paradis scored three goals and assisted on two others while Parent added a pair of goals. Sophomore Tim Parlato (Needham, Mass.) won 6-of-9 at the X and picked up a game-high eight ground balls. Senior Jared Proulx (Nashua, N.H.) made 12 saves in 53:34 of work. Senior Jeff Bathalon (Maynard, Mass.) and freshman Miller (Malverne Valley, N.Y.) combined to play the final 6:24.

Jensen had a pair of goals for Curry while freshman Matthew Boyd (Millwood, N.Y.) won 8-of-12 at the X. Junior Daniel Martin (Pittsfield, Mass.) made 11 saves and picked up a team-high six ground balls.

Wentworth had a 36-25 advantage on shots and a 45-42 edge in ground balls, while Curry won 11 of 20 faceoffs. The Leopards were 3-for-9 on the extra-man and didn't allow a goal in four shorthanded situations.
