Fein, Arnold, Mascioli & Delaney Named as 2014 Men’s Lacrosse Captains

MILTON, Mass. – Seniors Marc Fein, Connor Arnold and Jimmy Mascioli, along with junior Matt DeLaney, have been named as captains for the 2014 Colonels' men's lacrosse team.

Fein (Defense – East Greenbush, N.Y.), who returns for his final campaign, was a tri-captain in 2013 and will once again be leading his teammates this fall. Last spring, Fein was first on the team in caused turnovers with 34, and also picked up 31 groundballs. "We are very fortunate to have Marc back for another year," said Head Coach Tim Murphy.  "After a whole year of leadership last spring, we are looking forward to him picking up right where he left off last April."

Seniors Connor Arnold (Attack – Clifton Park, N.Y.) and Jimmy Mascioli (LSM – Arlington, Mass.), and junior Matt DeLaney (Defense – Sudbury, M.A.) will all serve as first-time captains in 2014.  "The other three guys complement Marc well as co-captains," said Murphy.  "Connor is one to let his play be the example; Jimmy is a great communicator and competitor; and Matt is the type of guy who won't allow anyone to outwork him.  All four of these guys see what we are trying to do here and showed that throughout the fall."

Arnold was fourth on the team in points last year tallying 16 goals and chipping in with eight assists.  Mascioli totaled 34 ground balls and 14 turnovers from the long-stick midfield position in 2014. Before an ankle injury sidelined him for the majority of the year, DeLaney picked up three ground balls and caused the same amount of turnovers.

The Curry Men's Lacrosse Team kicks off the 2014 season with a trip to Wheaton College on February 26. The Colonels will host Maine Maritime that Saturday, March 1 for the home opener at Katz Field with a 1:00 p.m. start time.
