Natale Named to USILA Scholar All-America Team

MILTON, Mass. – Senior Joseph Natale (Haverhill, Mass.) has been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-America Team for his efforts in the classroom and on the field during the 2012-13 academic calendar year.

In the classroom, Natale graduated with an overall GPA of 3.67. In his final semester of his collegiate career, he had a GPA of 3.85.  Natale majored in corporate communication and minored in management.  He was on dean's list for eight semesters and was named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Academic Team three years in a row.  Natale will begin working at Toshiba Business Solutions as an account executive on June 6.

On the field, Natale was a member of the Curry College Men's Lacrosse Team for four years.  He captained his team in 2013.  He had a career total of 57 games played, 169 total points, 127 goals and 42 assists. Natale was named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference First Team in 2012 as an attacker and the CCC Honorable Mention Team as a midfielder in 2013.  

Natale also was involved in three major community services over the school year.  On October 20, Natale joined his squad at the Joe Moakley Park in South Boston and volunteer at the Susan G. Komen - Race for the Cure event. On October 28 Natale and his team were involved in the Milton Foundation for Education – Monster Dash 5K Race and Fun Run.  Hi final community service came on Saturday, March 9 at the Quincy Marriott, he was one of five members of the Curry College Men's Lacrosse Team to attend a silent auction for the Milton Foundation for Education (MFE) as volunteers. 

Natale was one of only 92 student-athletes across NCAA Division I, II, and III to receive the honor.

In 1989 the USILA Scholar All-America Program was established to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities. The USILA Selection Committee selects an overall team representing Division I, II and III. The Scholar All-Americas are recognized at the annual Lacrosse All-America Banquet.
