Hockey's Vizzo, Ketola Nab CCC Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – A pair of Curry College men's ice hockey student-athletes were recognized by the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) on Monday morning.

Senior Billy Vizzo (Shelton, Conn.) was named CCC Player of the Week for the third time in his career while classmate Justin Ketola (Cloquet, Minn.) earned CCC Goaltender of the Week honors for the third time this season. The duo led the Colonels to a 2-0-0 record last week that included a pair of wins over Salve Regina University.

Vizzo had a seven-point week as Curry earned the conference sweep over the Seahawks. He set the tone for the weekend in the opener at home on Friday as he picked up a hat trick and added two assists for a five-point night. He followed up that performance with two more assists a night later. One of Vizzo's goals came on the power play.

Ketola made 79 total saves for the Colonels in two conference contests against Salve Regina this weekend. He earned the victory in both games posting a 2.50 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage for the week. In Friday's win, Ketola registered a season-high 49 saves and followed that up with 30 stops on the road on Saturday.

Curry (16-4-3 overall, 11-3-2 CCC) will close out the road portion of its regular season at Nichols College on Friday, February 21 at 6:40 p.m.
