Hockey Returns Home After Perfect Record on European Tour

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College men's ice hockey team has returned from their European tour as the winners of three games. The Colonels beat the Vasas Hockey Club from Erste Liga 9-1, followed by a shootout win in Nitra, Slovakia, before completing the sweep with a 4-3 win vs. UTE of the Erste Liga in Budapest, Hungary.

"This trip has connected our student-athletes to each other and Curry College on a deeper level for the rest of their lives," Head Coach TJ Manastersky said. "Including family and friends, about 80 Curry students and supporters from seven countries met in Budapest for the opportunity to experience hockey and culture in Hungary, Slovakia, and Austria. It was a special moment in time for all of us."

The thrilling shootout win in Nitra, Slovakia caught the attention of ESPN's SportsCenter and sophomore Alex Ochterbeck (Dallas, Texas) had a fancy between the legs goal that made No. 3 of the countdown of the Top 10 Plays of the night.
