BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team was upended by Curry College in the backend of a two-game weekend series, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at Wintersports Ice Sports.

Curry, who owned a 33-20 shot advantage, improves to 9-5-1 after completing the series sweep. Bryn Athyn is now 5-7-0 overall.

Lionel Mauron started a three-point day by scoring the game's opening goal on the power play at the 2:15 mark of the first period. Mauron received the puck in the slot on the rebound of a blocked shot at the right post and ripped a shot into the upper left corner.

Jarret Kup extended the Colonel advantage to 2-0 at 5:58 with what would be the game-winning goal at even strength. Mauron and Zachary White each picked up an assist on the play.

Kasper Kjellkvist turned another fortuitous bounce into Curry's third goal, second on the power play with 2:50 left in the opening period. Adam Valadao had a shot attempt blocked, and just like Mauron's goal, Kjellkvist had the puck come right to him for a shot at an open net.

Curry widened the gap to 5-0 after 40 minutes of play with a pair of goals during the second period. Kup recorded his second goal of the afternoon at 9:19 after getting a pass from Mauron. After assisting on Curry's first two goals of the game, White put his name into the goal column at 15:13. Snow notched his third assist of the game on the play.

Kjellkvist scored the Colonels' final goal at 7:30 of the third period from the slot after getting a backhand from Valadao along the right boards.

Vojtech Luza broke up the shutout two minutes later when he found the puck in a scrum in front of the Curry net and poked it by Cody Murch for a power-play goal.

Murch recorded 19 saves to pick up his second win of the season. McKenzie Chalmers had 19 stops in 35:13 of action. Isaac Syre came in after Curry's fifth goal and stopped eight of the nine shots he faced.

The Colonels were 2-for-7 on the power play, while the Lions went 1-for-7.
