Hockey Program Announces 2017-18 Captains

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College Hockey team is pleased to announce team captains for the 2017-18 season. Team Co-Captains are Phil Kiss and Shane Tracy and joining them will be Assistant Captains Ryan Fitzgerald, Jarret Kup, and Adam Valadao.

"Each of these young men bring their unique character skill set to the leadership group and I am thrilled to be working with them in this capacity. They are all very important players on the team and will be counted on to push the pace and lead our daily challenge to keep getting better," said Head Coach TJ Manastersky.

Phil Kiss, Senior from Burlington, Ontario, Canada

Phil is an authentic leader who gains the respect of his teammates through his daily approach and respect for everyone. He is a stable force on the blue line who is counted on to be a terrific defender and play all situations.

Shane Tracy, Senior from Bow, New Hampshire

Shane has an incredible work ethic and high expectations. He has formal leadership training through his participation in ROTC where he has been awarded the Superior Cadet Award three years in a row. Shane plays in all situations on the ice and is a key producer of offense.

Ryan Fitzgerald, Senior from Cary, North Carolina

Ryan is a very professional and organized person. His worth ethic on and off the ice is outstanding and is willing to anything necessary to win games. He is a premier penalty killer and counted on to play hard minutes.

Jarret Kup, Senior from Rousseau, Ontario, Canada

Jarret leads by example with a great demeanor and has really emerged as a leader in the program. A second-team all-conference defenseman last season, he has the ability to change a game from the back end with explosive skating and offensive instincts.

Adam Valadao, Senior from Ajax, Ontario, Canada

Adam is a calming influence in the dressing room and plays with passion on the ice. His best games happen when it matters the most. He is counted on to be great in the faceoff circle and to quarterback the power play.
