Curry Hockey 2016-17 Season Outlook

MILTON, Mass.-The 2016-17 hockey season is an exciting opportunity to establish the Curry College hockey team as a contender in the Commonwealth Coast Conference, which now sponsors hockey in their first season. 10 teams will compete for the NCAA tournament automatic bid and the inaugural CCC hockey championship.

The program looks to improve each day and compete with the best teams in the conference and the nation. With 24 returning players we have an opportunity to hit the ground running and with a sense of urgency from our 11 seniors.

On Saturday, November 19 at 4:45pm, Curry plays host to Johnson and Wales. The program will sponsor the third annual Teddy Bear Toss for Team Impact. On this special evening teddy bears and stuffed animals are thrown on to the ice after Curry scores their first goal of the game. All the stuffed animals are collected and donated to children in need during the holiday season. Our partnership with Team IMPACT is an opportunity to bring exposure to the organization that does so much for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Our non-conference schedule remains one of the toughest in the nation. We host 2015-16 national semi-finalists, UMass-Boston in our home opener on October 29th at 4:45 p.m. The other non-conference home game is against another Boston area rival, Babson College on Thursday, December 8 at 6:45 p.m. Additionally, Curry will travel to play Manhattanville College, Elmira College, and Cortland State as well as participate in the prestigious Pathfinder Classic at Oswego State. They will face off against Utica College in the first game and will play either Oswego or Wisconsin Eau-Claire the next day.
