CCC Set to Celebrate Inaugural Men's Ice Hockey Season

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) adds its 16th championship sport this winter with the addition of men's ice hockey. In order to commemorate the sport's inaugural season, the Conference has planned a month-long celebration throughout November.

Early in the season, Commissioner Gregg Kaye and Assistant Commissioner Doug Chin will make the rounds to each of the member schools to participate in a pregame ceremony that will include a celebratory puck drop along with prominent leaders on each campus.

"The inaugural season of CCC men's ice hockey is extremely exciting for both the conference and the 10 institutions that will be competing for the inaugural CCC championship and the opportunity to carry the CCC banner into NCAA Championship play," said Kaye. "Men's college ice hockey has a long and storied tradition in New England. It is a privilege for the CCC to have an opportunity to add to that tradition as we become the second Division III multi-sport conference in our region comprised entirely of private institutions to sponsor men's hockey.  As we visit each of our 10 men's hockey institutions for a celebratory game in November, we hope that each campus community will come join us in the excitement."
