Oswego, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's ice hockey team advanced to the championship game of the PathFinder Bank Hockey Classic with a 3-0 win over Curry College on Friday night in the Campus Center Ice Arena. Oswego will take on the Pioneers of Utica College at 7 p.m. on Saturday night to try and capture its second-straight PathFinder Bank Hockey Classic Championship.  Curry will play the University of Wisconsin-Stout at 4:00 p.m. in the consolation round.

The win improves the Lakers to 6-2-1 on the season by earning their first win of 2014.  The Colonels fell to 2-6-1 overall.

Oswego and Curry opened scoreless for the first 17:50 before Mike Montagna put the Lakers up for good. Montagna benefitted on assists from Chris Raguseo and Kenny Neil. It was the Fulton native's third goal of the season.

Less than two minutes later, Oswego was at it again, sneaking in a goal before the intermission. Brandon Adams beat the Colonels goalie on a power-play to push the Laker lead to 2-0 heading into the second period. Adams' goal came with the help of a Bobby Gertsakis' assist.

The two teams did not add any scoring in the middle stanza, but Oswego was back at it in the third. Three more players from the Laker squad got into the action when Stephen Johnson buried a goal off passes from Chris Waterstreet and Alex Botten.

Johnson's goal came at 7:41 in the final period and was the last score of the game, giving the Lakers the 3-0 victory.  (Game Recap Courtesy of Oswego Sports Information)
