Warsofsky Lands Professional Hockey Coaching Job

MILTON, Mass. - Assistant Coach Ryan Warsofsky '11 has accepted the position of Assistant Coach and Manager of Hockey Operations with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. South Carolina is the Premier AA affiliate of the Providence Bruins and Boston Bruins.

"Ryan has earned this opportunity through his dedication and passion for hockey. Ryan's goal was to work in professional hockey and I am very happy that he has excelled so quickly. This is a big moment for our program," said Head Coach, TJ Manastersky.

Warsofsky was instrumental in the recruiting of 13 freshman players to the 2013/14 Curry hockey program. In addition he coached the defense, worked closely with monitoring of academics, equipment management, and community service. As a player, Warsofsky was an Assistant Captain and a key member on the blue line for back to back ECACNE Championship and NCAA Tournament teams.

From his desk in South Carolina, Warsofsky said, "I would like to thank everyone at Curry College and in the Athletic Department. My time as a student-athlete and coach at Curry was an experience that I will never forget. I would also like to personally thank Head Coach TJ Manastersky for giving me an opportunity to coach at my alma mater, I learned a great deal from him that I will take with me to South Carolina. Best of luck this year and I'll be watching."

"Ryan was a quality individual while he was here at Curry College, both as a hockey student-athlete and later as an assistant coach. His hard work and commitment to his teammates and later his players was outstanding and he will be sorely missed. We wish him all the best as he moves forward in the coaching circles," said Athletic Director, Vinnie Eruzione.
