Hockey Hosts Wentworth Thursday With ECAC Northeast Lead on the Line

Excerpt from Monday's Boston Herald article:

MILTON, Mass. - A terrific matchup in the ECAC Northeast takes place Thursday (7:35 p.m.) at Max Ulin Arena in Milton when Curry (9-4-1, 3-0-1) hosts Wentworth (12-1-1, 5-0-0).

"It's a huge game," Curry coach Rob Davies said. "This looks as evenly matched as can be on paper. It gets down to who wants it more."

Curry is coming off a successful weekend trip to upstate New York, where it defeated Utica, 4-3, and Geneseo, 3-2. The Colonels are young (19 freshmen and sophomores) with sophomore Payden Benning averaging a point a game (3 goals, 11 assists), trailed closely by sophomore John Williams (7-6-13) and senior co-captain Sean Sylvester (6-7-13). Curry has used three goaltenders: seniors Steve Jakiel (5-2-0, 2.51 goals-against average, .920 save percentage) and Zachary Cardella (2-1-0, 2.93, .912), and freshman Robert Dawson (2-1-1, 1.61, .940).

Wentworth enters riding a five-game win streak, led by the sibling tandem of sophomore forward Skylur Jameson (13-7-20) and freshman defenseman Shaun Jameson (3-12-15). Senior stalwart Jeff Olitch (9-8-17) also is among the Leopards' scoring leaders. Senior Justin Marriott (8-1-1, 2.29 GAA, .922 SP) has handled the bulk of netminding duties but Michael Jarboe (4-0-0, 2.90, .916) has provided support. Marriott (44 saves) and Jarboe (48) helped complete a weekend road sweep of Hobart, 2-0 and 4-2.
