Men’s Basketball Stopped Short by Roger Williams

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated 99-84 by Roger Williams University in a Conference of New England men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.

With the loss, the Colonels' overall record falls to 2-19 and their conference record drops to 1-13.

Curry had a strong opening, with a Malik Gelinas three-pointer starting an 11-2 scoring run for the home team. The Hawks battled back to take command later in the first half, but the Colonels, led by Jaiden Mann who finished with 12 points in the half, managed to stay within striking distance, trailing by 10 by the start of halftime.

Mann led Curry with 27 points, going 5-for-7 from behind the arc while grabbing four rebounds throughout the contest. Jeremiah Predin was efficient, going 5-for-6 from the field with 13 points and 11 rebounds to secure the double-double. Francisco Lopez knocked down a pair of threes to finish with 10 points.

Curry College returns to action on Tuesday, February 11th, in a road game against Gordon beginning at 7:30 p.m.
