Thorpe-Johnson Garners Third Team All-Conference Selection

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Junior guard Jared Thorpe-Johnson (Dorchester, Mass.) of the Curry College men's basketball team was named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference Third Team, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Thorpe-Johnson enjoyed a productive season, averaging 19.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He ranked sixth in the conference in points per game and eighth in rebounds per game. He placed fifth in the conference in total points with 491. The 491 points were highlighted by a CCC men's basketball single-game scoring record with 59 points on 22-for-29 shooting and added 6-for-10 from three-point range in a contest at the University of New England on January 30. Additionally, he went 9-for-9 from the charity stripe. The 59 points was the second highest scoring individual scoring effort in Division III this season.  Later in the year, Thorpe-Johnson eclipsed the 1,000 point plateau with 26 in a loss at Wentworth on February 9.

Thorpe-Johnson played in all 25 games for the Colonels, making 25 starts. He hit double-figure scoring in 21 of those games. Thorpe-Johnson also shot 43.6 percent from the floor, 34.8 percent from three, and 82.8 percent from the free throw line.
