2017-18 Curry College Men's Basketball Season Outlook

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College Men's Basketball Team opens up the 2017-18 on Friday at the Hampton Inn Classic. The squad has been working hard in the preseason to prepare for the upcoming campaign and has a core group of returners and talented newcomers that comprise this year's team. Head Coach Matt LeVangie enters his third season at the helm of the Colonels and provides his season outlook below:

Players To Watch On Your Team & Top Returning Players

Kieran Carroll (Greenwich, Conn.) – Kieran is a very hard working post player. He has an extremely high motor and he can score from inside and out.

Barak Swarttz (Newton, Mass.) – Barak is a fantastic leader with great court vision and is the heart of the team.

Jared Thorpe-Johnson (Dorchester, Mass.) – Jared is a high-level scorer who is a very good shooter and craft driver.

Spencer Feng (Keene, N.H.) – Very intelligent player, excellent shooter

Top Newcomers

Louis Stein (Las Vegas, Nev.) – Louis is a point guard who runs the show and can really shoot it from outside.

Justin Kelley (Medford, Mass.) – Justin is a forward who is very crafty, a tough rebounder and runs the floor very well.

Akhari Goodridge (Cambridge, Mass.) – Akhari is a tough, physical guard.

Expectations For Season

My expectations for the season are to keep improving every game, become great citizens of the Curry community, outwork everyone we play and have a positive basketball culture.

Who in League To Look Out For

Nichols ranks right outside the Top 25. 

Gordon is very solid. 

Endicott is coming off three straight NCAA appearances.

RWU is filled with older players who play very well together.

Talk About Coaching Staff

Phil Alibrandi – Former 1,000 point scorer at Regis. Very hard working and intelligent coach, great relationship with the guys. Works with the post players.

Lambros Papalambros – Former 1,000 point scorer at Curry, intelligent and very high energy. Work with the guards.

Curry opens up the 2017-18 season on Friday, November 17 against Castleton at the Hampton Inn Classic hosted by UMass Dartmouth at 5:30 p.m.
