Men's Basketball Absorbs 115-65 Road Loss to Nichols College in Conference Action

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Curry College Men's Basketball team fell to host Nichols College, 115-65 in Dudley, Mass. on Saturday afternoon.

All-Time Series & Streaks
Today's contest marked the 64th all-time meeting between Nichols and Curry. The Bison have won the last seven meetings but still trail the all-time series, 31-33.

1) Nichols junior Devin Stallings (Waterbury, Conn.) – recorded a double-double with 20 points (7-of-11 FG) and 10 boards in 24 minutes

2) Nichols senior Gustave Koumare (Harlem, N.Y.) – scored 17 first-half points in 12 minutes (6-of-8 FG)

3) Nichols senior Irving Eggleston (East Lyme, Conn.) – filled the stat sheet with 20 points, six rebounds, four steals, and three dimes in 20 minutes

Quick Synopsis
The Bison jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a 115-65 win over the Colonels to secure the No. 1 seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament for the third-straight season. The Bison also reached the 20-win plateau for the third-straight season, which has never been done in the history of the program, and extended their win streak to 12 games, which equals the program record set last season. Eggleston and Stallings each scored 20 and spend the majority of the second half on the bench while juniors Brandon Marshall (Hartford, Conn.) and Nate Tardy (Moodus, Conn.) each snared 11 rebounds. Junior captain Paul Preziosi (Quincy, Mass.) led the Colonels with 17 points.

Nichols canned 61 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half (22-of-36) to build a 40-point halftime lead (66-26).

A three-point play by Eggleston at 9:50 of the first-half gave the Bison a 21-point lead (31-10).

Quick Hits
-Freshman Marcos Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) led all scorers with 22 points (7-of-14 FG) and also collected five dimes and three rebounds for Nichols.

-Junior James Pina (Warwick, R.I.) was the only other Curry student-athlete in double figures with 12 points and seven rebounds.

-Freshman Jaylen Osbey (Cleveland, Ohio) came off the bench late in the second half and nailed a pair of pull-up three-pointers to finish with six points.

-The Bison held a 52-32 edge on the glass – including a 31-17 edge defensively.

-Curry shot 37 percent from the field (25-of-67). The Bison knocked down 16 of their 41 three-point attempts (39 percent).

-Nichols will host a CCC Quarterfinal contest on Tuesday, February 23.
